2010 Generation West Virginia Day at the Legislature

Please join us for the first-ever Generation West Virginia Day at the Legislature on Thursday, January 21st. Young leaders, 21 to 45 years of age, from across the state will be coming to the state Capitol to become more familiar with the legislative process and also share our concerns/issues for our state's future with member of the WV House and Senate.

AGENDA
January 20
· 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Arrive in Charleston. GWV has some rooms blocked off at the Charleston Marriott Town Center. Call now to reserve your room (304-345-6500)
· 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Mix and mingle with your Generation WV friends at a private reception at the Charleston Area Alliance building, 1116 Smith St. Charleston.
January 21
· 8:45 a.m.: Arrive at West Virginia State Capitol Building
· 9 a.m.: Attend Senate Economic Development Committee (presentation of Creative Communities Development Pilot Program legislation)
· 10 a.m.: Educational sessions – “How a Bill Becomes a Law” and “How to Communicate Effectively with your Legislators”
· 11 a.m.: Attend House of Delegates and Senate floor sessions
· Noon: Lunch and official launch of the “Generation Legislature” Caucus
· 1 p.m.: Educational sessions – “How to Run for Office” presentation plus a panel discussion
· 2 p.m.: GWV partners meet with their local legislators and attend major committee meetings
· 4 p.m.: Visit new West Virginia Museum
· 5 p.m.: Adjourn
